Welcome to the LVI Brazilian Symposium on Operations Research!

We are thrilled and proud to host the 56th Brazilian Symposium on Operations Research (SBPO 2024) from November 4th to 7th, 2024, in the beautiful, bustling, and welcoming city of Fortaleza (Ceará, Brazil). We are pleased to invite the entire Operations Research community to participate in the LVI SBPO.

The event is hosted by the Brazilian Operational Research Society (SOBRAPO) and annually brings together experts from academia and industry with outstanding performance in their field.

The 56th edition of SBPO will be hosted by the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), State University of Ceará (UECE), Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (IFCE), and University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR).

Fortaleza is one of the most important capitals and one of the main tourist destinations of the country, with 2,428,678 inhabitants. The city has an international airport located near the city center, with daily flights to Brazil and Europe, and weekly flights to South America and North America. The city and its surroundings boast many natural beauties due to the great variety of tropical beaches, such as Cumbuco, Taíba, Lagoinha, Jericoacoara, Porto das Dunas, Morro Branco, Canoa Quebrada, and its urban waterfront with a bustling boardwalk on Beira Mar avenue and beaches like Iracema, Mucuripe, Meireles, and Praia do Futuro.

The event will take place at the Oasis Atlântico Imperial hotel, located in one of the most charming spots on Beira Mar avenue. The event's program will include traditional technical sessions with oral presentations, posters, lectures, and short-courses covering topics of interest to the community.

The official theme of the 56th SBPO edition will be Renewable Energies, Smart Cities, Agriculture, and Industry 4.0.
